Hole-by-Hole Local Golf Rules
HOLE #1
a. Fence, left and behind green: If your ball is in bounds and the fence restricts your swing, you do NOT get relief. Ball must be played as it lies or an unplayable lie penalty must be taken.
b. Sewer drain in road: If a ball comes to rest in the sewer drain in the road, the player MUST replay the shot. No penalty.
c. Entering Road: See Local Rules
d. Direct Water Hazard: See Local Rules
e. Hitting Vehicle: See Local Rules
HOLE #2
a. Out-of-bounds on right side: Boundary is determined by OB stakes and curb line.
b. Protective Screen behind green: If the ball comes to rest within the boundaries of the course, where the protective screen interferes with the swing, stance or line of sight, the player may drop ball within one club length from nearest point of relief of the screen, no closer to the hole. This location is normally to the left or right of the protective screen.
No penalty.
c. Direct Water Hazard: See Local Rules
d. Lateral Water Hazard: As defined by red stakes along Lake Minnetonka, per USGA rules, under penalty of one stroke
a. play next shot from point where original shot was played, or
b. play next shot within 2 club lengths from last point ball crossed the margin of hazard.
Or, with no penalty, play next shot from hazard without grounding club.
e. Parking Signs: If the ball comes to rest within the boundaries of the course, where the signs interfere with the swing, the player may drop ball within one club length from the nearest point of relief of the sign, no closer to the hole. No penalty.
HOLE #3
a. Ball Hitting Protective Screen or Mirror: Such a ball is considered to be “rub of the green” and ball must be played as it lies or declared unplayable. One stroke penalty.
b. Paddle Tennis Court: See Local Rules
c. Retaining Wall (near #4 tee): See Local Rules
d. Cart Path Behind the Green: If a ball comes to rest where the cart path behind the green is interference, normal USGA rules apply. However, if the subsequent free drop results in the retaining wall interference noted above, player MUST drop in the nearest designated drop area. No penalty.
HOLE #4
a. Paddle Tennis Court: See Local Rules
b. Outdoor Restroom: See Local Rules
HOLE #5
a. Out of Bounds: OB is only on the right side of the hole. The road behind the green is NOT OB.
b. Entering Road: See Local Rules
c. Hitting Vehicle: See Local Rules
d. Flower Garden left of green: See Local Rules
e. Protective Screen left of green: If the ball comes to rest within the boundaries of the course, where the Protective Screen interferes with the swing, stance, or line of sight, the player may drop ball within one club length from nearest point of relief of the screen, no closer to the hole. This location is normally to the left or right of the protective screen. No penalty.
f. Outdoor Restroom: See Local Rules
HOLE #6
a. Retaining Walls on #4 or #7 Tee: See Local Rules
b. Retaining Wall around Pond near 6th Green: The retaining wall is a part of the hazard. If the ball comes to rest where the retaining wall is an interference, it must be dropped in the adjacent ball drop area under penalty of one stroke.
c. Cart Path to left of Green: If a ball comes to rest where the cart path to the left of the green is interference, normal USGA rules apply. However, if the subsequent free drop results in the retaining wall interference noted above, player MUST drop in the nearest designated drop area. No penalty.
d. Direct Water Hazard: See Local Rules
e. Hazard Line of Direct Water Hazard: The Hazard Line is defined by the yellow stakes, edge of wall on the green side, and retaining wall supporting the #7 tee.
HOLE #7
a. Direct Water Hazard: See Local Rules
b. Entering Road: See Local Rules
c. Hitting Vehicle: See Local Rules
HOLE #8
a. Telephone or Power or Wires: See Local Rules
b. Entering Road: See Local Rules
c. Hitting Vehicle: See Local Rules
d. Cart Path (to right of green): If a ball comes to rest on the cart path, player must drop one club length from the curb closer to the hole. No penalty. There is no drop circle on Hole #8.
HOLE #9
a. Ball Hitting Protective Screen: Such a ball is considered to be “rub of the green” and ball must be played as it lies or declared unplayable. One stroke penalty.
b. Out of Bounds on left side: Boundary is determined by nearest curb and OB stakes.
